Vacancy is with the Department of Environmental Services, Refuse Division. Position is located in Waipahu and must be on-call 24-hours a day. Position also requires the use of safety and protective equipment due to possible exposure to high-voltage electrical shock hazards, obnoxious gases, dust, heat, and working at heights. |

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to show competence in the installation, overhaul, repair and maintenance of industrial plant electrical/electronic equipment, which must have included one year of supervisory experience.
Such experience must have demonstrated the knowledge of principles and practices of supervision; theories of electricity and electronics, tools, equipment, practices and procedures used in electrical, electronic and mechanical repair, and in building maintenance, occupational hazards and safety practices involved in working around high voltage and moving machinery and the ability to plan, coordinate, assign and review the work of others, estimate personnel, equipment and time requirements to complete projects, issue clear and concise oral and written instructions, interpret electrical and electronic wiring plans and diagrams and mechanical plans and specifications; prepare work and time reports, maintain harmony in work relationships among workers.
License Requirement:
1. Valid Hawaii driver’s license (Type 3) prior to appointment.
2. Valid Hawaii State supervising electrician's or supervising industrial electrician's license. You must submit a photo copy of your supervising electrician's or a supervising industrial electrician's license within 7 days of filing this application. Copies will not be returned.
